Medardo Elio

Medardo Elio was born in Prato, in Italy's Tuscany region, and moved to London with his mother at the age of four. He pursued his education at the University of Oxford, where he earned his undergraduate degree, followed by a master's degree from Rice University in Texas. Medardo's career in the oil and gas industry began over 35 years ago when he started as an intern at Total in Belgium.

Following his internship, he gained valuable experience working in various roles across multiple petrochemical companies. This diverse background laid the foundation for him to establish Elio Offshore Drilling Company LLC. In the early years of the company, Medardo focused on positioning it as a contractor-based operation, securing projects within the oil and gas industry across Europe, North America, and South America.
